There have been many people impacted by natural disasters across the United States and world. Many of us however, don't know how, or what ways will be most impactful. Here is a list of ways you can give back and help someone in need during this tough time:

1. The Red Cross: a monetary donation goes a long way with the Red Cross. Any donation made today helps support shelter, food, comfort and emergency support to individuals and families affected by hurricane Harvey and hurricane Irma

2. Salvation Army: like the Red Cross, the Salvation Army is taking monetary donations to help provide food, shelter, and support to families affected by the hurricanes. Any donation you make is tax deductible.

3. Volunteer in the affected areas: Hurricane Irma has caused tremendous damage to the Caribbean islands and to Florida. They will need help in the years to come to completely recover. It's best if you sign up to volunteer with an organization before self deploying. The National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD) is taking applications for the affected areas.

4. Giving blood to your local blood bank:. During disasters the blood supply might run low due to the demanded supply needed. Donating blood saves lives in the emergency room.

5. Airbnb: if you have a residence close to the affected area you can donate your residence or a room and place it up on Airbnb under the urgent accommodations tool. Over 800 people have already given up their homes to evacuees for free. This gives affected victims temporary shelter during this rough time.

Anyway you donate, large or small will make a huge difference to those who have lost so much. It is truly amazing to see the community come together during times of need. Together we can rebuild what was lost.
